Executive Coaching

Leadership can be rewarding, but it can also be demanding, complex and, at times, surprisingly lonely. The higher you progress, the fewer opportunities there are to think out loud, test ideas, explore challenges openly or receive truly impartial support.

Executive coaching provides a confidential space to step back from the day-to-day pressures of leadership, gain perspective and focus on what matters most. Clients often come to coaching when they are stepping into a bigger role, navigating organisational change, managing complex stakeholder relationships, building confidence and executive presence, leading through uncertainty, overcoming self-doubt or considering their next career move.

Liz Howard, CPsychol AFBPsS

As a Chartered Coaching Psychologist and EMCC Senior Practitioner Coach, I combine evidence-based psychology, leadership  experience and over a decade of coaching leaders across a wide range of sectors. Having spent much of my own career in leadership roles, I understand first-hand the realities of modern leadership; balancing competing priorities, making difficult decisions, leading through ambiguity, influencing others and carrying responsibility for both people and results.

What makes Coaching Psychology different is the ability to combine practical coaching with a deeper understanding of human behaviour, motivation and change. Coaching is not therapy, but it can help uncover the assumptions, habits and patterns of thinking that may be limiting performance or holding you back. Together, we can explore not just what you want to achieve, but what may be getting in the way.

Clients often describe my coaching style as warm, down-to-earth and thought-provoking. I create a supportive environment where you can think deeply, challenge your assumptions, explore different perspectives and develop practical strategies for moving forward. Alongside support, I bring appropriate challenge, helping clients build self-awareness, confidence and lasting change.

I work within the professional and ethical standards of both the British Psychological Society and the EMCC, providing a confidential, professional and trusted partnership focused entirely on your development and success.

What It's Like to Work Together.....

Whilst every coaching engagement is different, there are some common themes that consistently emerge from client feedback.

Clients often describe me as approachable, supportive and easy to talk to, whilst also providing the right level of challenge to help them think differently and move forward with confidence.

Many value the combination of psychological expertise and real-world leadership experience, bringing both insight and practical application to the challenges they face. Whether navigating career transitions, stepping into more senior roles, leading teams, managing change or tackling complex organisational challenges, clients frequently comment on my ability to create a space for honest reflection, fresh thinking and meaningful growth.

Others highlight my ability to balance support with challenge, helping them uncover their own solutions rather than simply providing answers. They often describe feeling more confident, gaining greater clarity, improving their leadership effectiveness and developing new perspectives that continue to influence their decisions long after coaching has finished.

Across coaching, leadership development and consultancy assignments, clients consistently describe my approach as professional, personable, insightful, pragmatic and focused on achieving meaningful results.
